Think about it. Democrats encourage social spending, taxing the rich, welfare, child development programs, woman's and race rights, affirmative action, etc. They believe in a more marxist society where people are equal, where people are helped, where big businesses and rich bitches don't take advantage of everybody else. It's better to have hope in these kind of things than in the Republican "Cinderella" complex. Think about who Republicans side with and what kind of economic policies they encourage. Reaganomics, or trickle down economics. Does it work? NO! And actually in this election many impoverished Americans are voting McCain/Palin because they believe they have the chance to be wealthy. HA, that is funny. I live in El Paso, TX as a matter of fact and believe me, Republican would not work here as well as Democratic ideas. Every city knows what they need to help their city prosper and grow. Many great things have been done here, under our current mayor and even though people are poor does that necessarily mean they are unhappy? Some cities, like mine need balance too. The majority of the civilian population is Democratic, but we also have a large base, Ft. Bliss, where many people are Republican. Open your mind a little, don't generalize things!

Probably because every job that comes around here is minimum wage. if you want to succeed in el paso you must leave el paso first. usually, people leave but find that other cities are way better and stay there. Also our government. they closed the tigua casino, which could have done great things for our economy,. Moved western playland to anthony., which by the way is the most retarded looking amusment park in the u.s.. And lastley hiked up property taxes. El paso is full of crap and i live hear all my life, thats why i want to move to houston.

I think the better question to ask is what is the solution. Blame is a negative emotion and a waste of time because it doesn't solve the problem.

(p.s Cleveland and Detroit are number 1 and 2 without any illegal immigration problems.)

It is really close to the boarder. There for most of the people living in El Paso can't get jobs that the American Citizen can get.

Its obviously your agenda is only to bash this city to make your point......Not very nice....Drop out rates have nothing to do with immigration but more with poverty.....Poverty affects all walks of life, including whites, blacks, hispanics etc.....Asians immigrants happen to out perform American's in public schools....Your argument is a weak one.....Suggestion, next time you want to make a point, start by not bashing a group of people and its city....

I think it was Mr. Paso himself. It has something to do with a donkey, a 14-pound chin-chilla named pedro and a Hula girl with the worst toe-fungus you've ever seen.

Geez you just never give up do you lady?

Still burned up about El Paso having one of the lowest crime rates for being a border city eh?

I happen to make a very good living here....Its all relative....The average cost of a home here is 150k...One of the cheapest housing markets, relative to the size of the city, thats not bad....

My utility bills are also much lower than, say Austin where I used to live....Get a life and stop attacking my community....
