Sadly in todays society the numbers are shrinking and it will not be long until they are extinct. Only a handful of these beautiful and gracious creatures still roam about. Occasionally you can see one if you look quickly enough as one of them does a good deed expecting nothing in return. But, unfortunately their natural habitat is being uprooted to make room for our secular, gay rights activists, family unit splitting culture. Who knows if this once abundant creature can make a comeback but we do know that when the rapture comes, they will no more dwell on this GOD forsaken piece of earth.

Do you want to know? Or are you looking for conformation of what you already believe?

A true christian is MANY THINGS. Not just the things you mention, and not necessarily in the context in which you mean them.

I don't know what Act 2:38 has to do with your question or statement but here goes:

You reference:

Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

You may have been taught that the "gift of the Holy Spirit" spoken of here by Peter is the gift of"speaking in tounges". You may think "speaking in tougues" would be unintelligable sounds. When, in fact, the "gift of the Holy Spirit" spoken of here is the "gift of salvation in Christ Jesus". (and "speaking in tounges" is better understood as the gift of speaking in a "tounge that the speaker had not learned". That was a gift of God that only Jesus and the Apostles had the power to bestow on men. An example of this is in Acts 1.

You may have been taught that this baptism was not a water baptism, but some sort of Holy Spirit baptism. But yet, the following verses confirm that some three thousand souls were baptized that day!! That WAS water baptism. The one that is required of all who would come to Christ, even to this day.

God Bless you in your quest.

Peace

This was the day of penticost.

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This is how to become a Christian and become born again.

I am a Christian. I wouldn't say that I don't sin, but the way you've described a Christian is sufficient. I repent, or turn away from the sin I recognize. I have been baptized and I have been saved by faith in the work of Jesus Christ.

By the way, the definition of sin is; whatever is not from faith in God. Any choice you make, any act you do that was not first meditated over to determine is it was about trusting God is self will, a failure to submit to the will of our Designer.

I'm TRYING very hard to be a "true Christian" - which I believe is someone who knows the Word, lives the Word, and shares the Word of the Lord with others. I try to follow the lead of Jesus by treating others with love and compassion. I give freely of my time and money. I still need a little work though. There's always room for improvement.

I am a true Christian, and I still sin, and when I recognize or don't recognize my sin I ask Jesus to forgive me once again for my sins of ommission and commission and ask Him to help me be stronger so that I can resist sin better. I am born again by the blood of Jesus and that washes away all my sin. It is not what I do but what He did for me. I am eternally grateful for his free gift of salvation to me.

John Paul II for exemple

A true Christian is someone who accepts the difference,
who gives the best of him/herself,
who pushes his/her ideas in the right direction,
who is openminded
who wants to learn all about the one who needs help
who is ready to share his/her feelings with others
who rallies around sufferring people
who tries his/her best to be honest
who forgets to think about him/herself,
who believes in something better and greater ... and who tries to build that world ....

oups... ive forgotten the most important thing :
and who believes in "the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit"

unfortunatly, it seems that i do not fullfil all the items... so i'm no a good christian where does it come from ???? certainly from the fact that i'm agnostic...

I must be a seudo Christian as I have not been baptized by water. Of course this girl wasn't also.

Mat 9:22 But turning and seeing her, Jesus said, Daughter, be comforted; your faith has saved you. And the woman was saved from that hour.

I appreciate the fact that you think "true" Christians do not sin.
however im afraid your mistaken, imperfect man cannot help but sin.
no matter how much a person tries to live the right way,no matter
how devout, how religious he is,he/she cannot live without sinning.
its built in to us.thats why JESUS came to earth,to provide a ransom for us that we might live.thats why we need to pray to GOD
every day to forgive our transgressions of that day.and try not to
keep commiting the same sins over and over again.
