Because they are evil and sadistic. They get some sort of perverse kick out of knowing people are burning themselves!

Possible ideas why McDonald's Apple Pies hotter than molten lava inside...Apple Pies, unlike lava, is:
- Able to retain more heat;
- Has less exposure to air; and
- Cooked under greater heating conditions.

My Dad and I say that every time we go to McDonalds, "why is the pie filling hotter than molten lava. Much too hot to eat or enjoy.

They heat the cold pie in a microwave oven. The more moisture there is in what is being microwaved the faster it heats.The fruit filling has about 25% moisture and the pastry only about 5% SO the filling heats faster but the crust stays cool.
Bingo! When you bite through the cool crust you get a mouth full of scalding filling!

?? They're warm, but not overtly hot, in my case. Anyhow, what happens is they don't make the pie, their company does. The company factory sends boxes of the crap to the varius Mc D's and the Mc D's keep them in a kind of a oven that warms them up. They stay in that for most the day, and only get a chance to cool off at night. If you buy them earlier, I bet they'd be cooler. Anyhow, they lose their heat quickly, so just wait a minute or so to eat them. (Take it out of the box?)
Also, I'm sorta guessing at how they do it. It may not be entirely accurate.

Because they have like some kind of fat that when it gets hot it really burns and also the filling has fruits that have sugar and because of the sugar they get really hot i hope it helps u know :)
:) and next time u eat one cut it in halfs and wait a bit to avoid burning :)

because they need to heat the pastry up but the watery inside absorbs the heat quicker therefore burns your tongue as hotter than outside

Cut them in half and give them a few mins to cool down seems the sensible thing to do!
