I'm so tired of people in here bashing Christians. I'm a Christian and I am not all of the things you say we are. I'm aware that there are Christians that do things that are really wrong, like cramming what them believe down the throats of non-believers. Seriously, I've never been to a church that promotes that in any way. It's wrong and i'm sorry for that, but you cannot judge everyone for the "sins" of some. I'm not really legalistic, I go out and have a drink now and then (The bible doesn't say that it's wrong BTW) I'm just someone who tries my best to live up to what I believe. I screw up sometimes and then you call me a hypocrite, but just because I believe in Jesus doesn't mean that I'm all of a sudden perfect. I have many non-Christian friends and I don't try to convert people. If they ask me a question, I tell them the truth that's it. So please think before you throw all of us into the same category. It's hard to think people hate you because of what you believe.

I'm not trying to get a rise out of anyone, just simply defending myself. I sure don't say that I hate people who don't believe in God. I think there are lots of people who try to get a rise out of Christians by posting things that are really disrespectful and wrong. I'm just tired of it. No thanks, I don't eat cookies :)

Ha, I even have Christians bashing me on here because I'm not Christian ebough. Please people, don't listen to them. I never said that Christian cannot state what they believe, i just think that we need to be sensitive to others, Christian or not christian. And for any Christian who doesn't think I'm Christian enough, I really love God and beleiev in him. I'm really involved in my church. But again, that's how I choose to live, that doesn't mean i have to be the sin control person and tell people whenever they do something wrong!

My heart went out for you when I read your question. I understand what it's like. People can be so hateful and I even get private e-mails from folks on here telling me that they hate my beliefs. Please know that Christianity isn't the only religion that has these issues. Most of the Christians that I know have the same kind attitude that you do. I don't judge an entire religion by its loud minority and I don't worry about others being perfect (I have enough to do with minding my own business). Perhaps someday there will be more tolerance and respect for others. Hang in there---you aren't alone.

You should report all bashing -- from whichever side it comes. That's the only way we have to reduce the mindlessness hatred appearing on the site.

Yes, there are a lot of people who lump large groups of people together ("women, how many pairs of shoes do you need to own" for example, or "why are men pigs" for another). I hope you are also saddened by all of the harassment of atheists and Americans, and non-Americans, and, and, and, and that also appear here.

There's an acronym you should try to keep in mind: RAMO. Report And Move On.

Don't let the nimrods sadden you unduly.

Report them so they will get discouraged and either shape up or go away. (More will replace them, but if we don't report, they'll take over.)

Try to focus on all of the thoughtful, tolerant people that are here. There are a lot of them, too.

On YA! religion section I have seen people bash others no matter what their beliefs are. It's not against one religion or set of bleliefs, it's against all of them.

Ignore the jerks and don't for a minute think that Christians have it the worst on here. They're the majority and I've seen some incredible un-Christlike behavior from some of them. True that some get guff for what they believe but why let them get to you? Be strong in your convictions and look at the bigger picture. Everyone gets crap on here for their faith or lack thereof

So, hun, while I do "feel your pain" and I do, because life as well as society is unfair, lets be real for a moment. Everyone judges at some point. Have you ever said anything bad about Catholics, Jehovah's Witnesses or Muslims? Isn't that rolling everyone in a nice tight little ball and tossing THEM out with the trash without getting to KNOW THEM? So, while I understand your tiredness, let's understand that you (as well as I) are all part of the problem. And we can only change society ONE person at a time.

EXCELLENT, I am a Christian! However, "Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage- with great paitience and carefu introduction" 2 Timothy 4; 2.

"Finally, be strong in the word of the Lord and his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the Devil's schemes." Ephesians 6: 10-11

you do know there is a abuse report thingy around here right...you could just report it...you arent christ...so you are flawable..just like the rest of us...and yes there are rightgeous blood sucking christians that believe heaven is theirs by birth right...but they can go suck on a pole...if you are a person of believe..and you follow your own thoughts...i think you are well excluded from the judgment of the mass passed up the bad christians....i dont have a doctrine..but i believe in God...i dont ask for little favors every time it gets rough..i just thank him for the good little things..and thats it..but its my believe..and there isnt a reason for me to pass judgment on you...unless you do me any wrong...people all around the world should be treated as individuals...we should not lump all the jews and all the muslims..and all the christians and catholics...we should take that individual drive to our personal believes and make the system and society recognize us for who we truly are..and for any deep rotted..selfrighgeous bastards...go up a tall building a jump off from it..because you will never met your creator with the bs you put other people thru.....hey are you a heavy weight or a light weight drinker?

What kind of Christian are you anyway? We are to share the word of God with others. People on here ask certain questions and I give them answers that pertain to their questions from the bible. Does your Chruch not teach from the bible? Do you just sit in Chruch and look at each other with blank expressions on your faces? Or does your preacher teach God's word to you all? Do you consider that to be cramming God's word down the church members throats?
Or are you this kind of Christian...

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

It is wrong to drink . IF you are a Christian you would treat your body like a temple because that is where Jesus is supposed to be living in side you. No one called you a hypocrite, because everyone falls short of the glory of God every day. But you must recognize what needs to be imporved upon with in you and not just ask Jesus to forgive and not make the necessary changes to improve yourself. Instead of living up to what you believe, you need to find out what it is God wants you to do, and then do it.

I agree....however....people do that with everyone....every religion...people have a tendency to generalize and look at people in groups rather than individuals....I have know a lot of christians who try do do every thing that you said you don't do and I know many like you.....We as a species need to learn that individuals are what mater not groups or organizations,....I don't know if that will ever happen though....maybe someday in the far future.

I agree with your perspective. i am a christian as well. however, i work with a bunch of kids that mock me just for being christian. two in particular keep saying the my preist rapes me. ive told them to stop it multiple times, but they will not. but i have vowed that the next time it happens, i am going straight to the top. i am in a college course and we are building a house. so the top wil be the one with the most power over the situation. the dean or administration. i do not really understand why people misunderstand us christians. they portray us in such a way that is impossible to live up to. and the minute we screw up we are bashed and walked all over. a lot of people hate us the minute we tell them that we are christians.

Those people who hate normal, compassionate Christians such as yourself are no better than those Christians who cram the word of Jesus down their throats. Religious tolerance is lacking. I'm an atheist. I don't hate you, you don't hate me. We need more of this in the world.
