Think it costs around $ 97.00 and supposedly takes a couple weeks. I say supposedly because I had to have pages added to mine and they said 2 week and 6 weeks later I still hadn't received it.
You can pick up the application at the post office and its pretty straight forward to fill out. Though you need a to supply proof of citizenship and your identity along with two passport size photos with the application. For reference Walgreen's does the photos for about $10.00 while you wait.
Here is the government link for additional info - http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html
If your going to get one I would get right on it. Because if it goes through, in December the government will require everyone to have a passport, even to visit Canada or Mexico.

For an extra fee you can get a passport in as little as two weeks. Just go to your local postoffice, get an application, get a passport picture taken (Jewel or Walgreens about $7.00), turn completed forms etc. back into post office. I think it was about $75 but that was 5 years ago.

It will cost about $100. You can do it all at the post office. You have enough time to get one by January. It can take up to a couple of months to get it though. You need your birth certificate and driver's license and probably social security card.

it should cost around 100 dollars. and you have plenty of time to get one before Jan. I got one last year and it took about 4 weeks i think and basically you have to have a couple of forms of identification and you have to go get a photo that is just for passports. you will have to call and find a place that will take them, I got mine at a AAA office. I dont think they check your background but I dont know really you can go to the courthouse and get a form and ask them about it. good luck

About a hundred dollars. You need to apply now. I downloaded the form off the internet and took it to the courthouse along with two passport photos that I got at Kinkos. You also need your birth certificate. The form tells you everything you need to do.

$97.00. if you arrive after January 8, 2007 from Jamaica a passport is required. if you arrive and do not have one you are subject to a secondary inspection, which means they go thru all your stuff closely and a possibility of a strip search and/or a computer imaging strip search.
