I understand it can be found in Windows XP pro and as a ValueAdd in home edition.

Nonetheless, I have the window backup program but have not used it.

Can someone shed any light on the matter? Is it worth messing with?

All I want to backup is "My Documents" which contains all of the family photo's as well as various documents I've saved to this site over the years.

Windows XP back program is no good. I have had problems with it before. When you try to restore files that were backed up you get errors. I really dont think its worth the time or headaches. Simple burn the entire my documents folder onto a CD or flash drive. Works great for me. Good luck.

The backup program that is included with windows has it's begginings with Seagate Backup Exec which then became Veritas and is now owned by Symantec. i am going to say no. Vista became not effective in words of satisfied clientele and makes use of up an excellent volume of elements and has severe criteria. I artwork at a organization with 100 pcs and we are nevertheless on living house windows XP and plan on being on XP for a lengthy time period, a minimum of till the recent living house windows 7 is out, and in no way Vista. Vista has been refuted to have insects, almost continuously for agencies because of the networking topics. Vista living house is probably a danger-free guess for you because this is the most good of the Vista structures. So in case you do favor to improve, Vista living house could do you fantastic, except you're planning on appearing some networking stuff. yet I also say conserving living house windows XP (that works large) isn't a foul concept both.

ok it's easy, it's like
windows backup = notepad
3d party backup progs = word

it means that windows backup has less features options, and some times it's not stable, so i don't like it. i'd recomend to use true image, i think it's the most convenient prog for backup operations.

it is not reliable as your only back up. I would not waste my time.

The Go Back Feature is better.

Buy programs like ghost to do back up.
