And avoid triples for bad? If so, could you tell me where you're from? My sister reckons it's a Surrey thing but I say it's more widespread

If you go over a triple by accident, you can apparently also hop three times or spit on the last one, although I'm never quite comfortable with that. Sometimes I just stand in front of the triple, waiting for the person walking on the remaining pavement to get out of my way.

yep...i do this too.
2 drains for luck 3 for bad.... but you can cancel out a 3 drain bad luck by walking over a 2 drain.

I'm in the brighton area but this all stemmed from west berkshire when i was a kid....

and i still do it... that is so wrong!

Don't know about drains but when I was a kid I used to always walk on the cracks in the pavement :o)

i thought i was the only one to do that and i actually go to some drastic measures to avoid the triple ones and the single drains you are supposed to make a wish on

Yep it is in Wales as well, and you must avoid walking on 3 drains other wise the devil will rise from hell and stickpins in your eyes. ! drain is not good either, neither are cracks but lines are ok

NO CHANCE. I steer clear from any drains i see. I once fell through one! Its was a small gap and I stepped on the grid and it f*ckin gave way. Deathtraps!
