There is no "administrative" leave. I'd agree with the above poster about the administrative discharge. That just means you are being kicked out for an offense not worthy of a courts martial, such as "failure to adjust to military life" or failing CDC's (our version of homework for new troops learning their jobs, Career Development Course).

Administrative leave usually means a disciplinary process, but it does not mean a discharge yet or even a court or trail yet. Cross your fingers and maybe you can get the person some help. Call your or his Congressman and tell them how good a person this person is and that you need the process explained to you to see what is happening and why.
Good Luck. PS: Don't trust or assume the military is fair or not fair because sometimes the Military is fair and sometimes it is diffinitely unfair and even illegal. But it is a legal process, so get help if you can.

I was let go from the Navy with an Administrative discharge. Which basically means that I should have never been there. Not an honorable discharge, but not dishonorable either.

I'm not for sure but it sounds like it could mean the same as when a police officer is on administrative leave.....read that they are under investigation for some kind of incident.
