My 7 year old think a pu$$y as a cat. Pu$$y Cat. I don't think the title is that bad, considering children are not dirty minded like us.

It's sad that children are forced to grow up too fast these days. It's bad enough Yahoo! Answers censors this word, and doesn't censor even worse ones.
It was wrong of these people to make an issue of the title of the book, especially if there was a picture of a cat on the front, which I can imagine in a children's book. Taking issue with a title like that when it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the female genitalia is disgusting. These people clearly have dirty minds. It is sickening and sad.

They should of found out what the book was about first and they should not of went off in front of the child. It could have been about a cat, I have 2 and sometimes they like to get all cuddled up with me and my other, or my daughter. They do like attention.

Well I know that someone of an older age may find that inappropriate. So I would find that as a wrong book to assign to a 10 year old, because they would find it funny and made fun of it. But to a 7 year old, it means cat. People called a cat a "pussy cat" before people started calling what you are thinking of a "pu$$y". so I think that they made a big deal about something that wasn't nessasary to make a big deal about. but they are the parents, and they do have the desision.

The book was first published in 1985 by Ashton Scholastic and was authored by Beverly Randell and is 8 pages long. Beverly Randell is a well established author who has written many childrens books highly regarded by teachers as good aids to involving children in reading.
How about you tell the parents to read up about the author here:
http://www.bookcouncil.org.nz/writers/randellb.html
Then go tell them to soak their heads, assuming your question is serious.

their daughter would have never had any idea the book was bad if her parents hadnt made a big deal about it. they are teaching there child to have a dirty mind because they do and i bet there 7 year old went and told all of her friends that pussy is a dirty word.
i bet there parents had a good time explaining that.

Its a child's book for god sake. What is the major issue. Children don't think like adults. If the parents have a problem with it, they should address it in private.

they over-reacted & now their daughter probably wants to know why the other word for cat is wrong. at that age, children are still too young to know there's another more sinister meaning to the word p**sy. if the daughter does know its other meaning then there's def. a problem but the book's not it.

What a joke! Why make such a big deal about something so minor as the name of a child's book. Oh I bet they are going to be fabulous parents when it comes time to talk about sex.....NOT.
