Westside Rentals is a great resource. http://www.westsiderentals.com/ I have used for years and have found many cool apartments, houses to share, rooms for rent, guest houses, etc. They are a little expensive $60 for 2 months membership, but i have never been sorry or disappointed.

Yeah...Eagle Rock! I went to high school there a zillion years ago. Good luck, because the housing rates are now outrageous. Check Glendale, also Highland Park ( the fringes) but that area is kind of rough. I kind of miss LA but not the crime, the smog, the prices, and the crowds. Fifty years ago it was great! Good Luck. PS The house I lived in may still be there, on Campus Road across from Occidental College. And I wonder if the old trolley tracks still run down through Eagle Rock and Highland Park?

Hey, isn't that zip code on the west coast?
My best advise is to get out of LA and move to the Northwest. Seattle is good, but I heard Portland is awesome.
If you want to pay, rent.com, roomate.com or other sites can help.
Craigslist is free, but be careful though.
