Gonzales was the President Bush's Attroney in the White House when he wrote the new rules on legal treatment of Prisoners of War. He called the stautes in the Geneva Convents quaint. He also wrote that the Geneva Convention does not rule the issue of how modern day detainee should be treated. Some have claimed that it was Gonzales' writings that lead to the torture of Prisoner of War through out Iraq and at Guantanomo Bay Prison. It has also been suggested that their is a lack of candor on this subject which could and maybe should lead to legal court action after Gonzale leaves Government.
Now we find him in Iraq schooling Government Officials like children on the issue of Rule of Law?
What next Rummy on caring deeply for the troops!

oh gee, some homicidal maniac terrorists got humiliated. They should have been skinned !! They should get exactly the same treatment that they give the poor souls that they capture. Then they should be put in the ground with a pigs carcass ! Why don't you come to Iraq and see why the Iraqis need to be lectured on the rule of law !!

Just because you disagree with him does not mean he is a bad person. He is well trained in law. How about Webb Hubell? The former Hillary Clinton law partner who was appointed by Clinton to serve as the Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court and later was associate attorney general. This guy went to jail over double billing clients. He wrote a book describing his illegal behavior.

Enemy combatants..are not considered to be covered under the Geneva Convention Laws.

Some of the things that happened at GITMO, were done by a very small percentage of the US Military; they were investigated, charged and punished. I place the blame where it belongs, with those who did the wrong doing!
Why shouldn't the US help Iraq with setting up their "new democratic" government? After all, they have never really had a democratic goverment, and we (USA) have given lives, and billions of dollars to help these people, live in a safe, truly democratic country.

Why is it, that its OK for us to send our soldiers to fight and die, for a country, but its not OK, for us to help/assist their government, and expect that certain conditions be met..like..not allowing terrorist to be involved in the government!!!(NO members of Hezbollah or Al Qaeda, serving in the government, or influencing the government)

He is a lawyer and a politician, two groups who pride themselves on their code of ethics. They are proud of these codes because they're bright and shiny and never been used. As a lawyer, like a rat, he has no gag reflex and so can't make himself sick with the hypocrisy he spews. He can say anything, it doesn't matter. He believes everything because he doesn't believe anything. When the people in charge ignore the laws that put them in office and they break the laws they are supposed obey they can only follow that old saw and teach what they cannot do. They are are so blinded by their own importance and power they can't see the wind they are sowing.

You have a long way to go before you can claim that anybody has been tortured at Guantamo Bay. I suppose one could argue that any number of things are torture, just as I find your repeated lame questions torturous, but there has been not a hint of evidence to support your claim of torture in the classic sense.

it is the architect of the criminal language that de-humanizes every person who opposes the will of the U. S. and subverts the very concepts upon which the very criminal mind-set of this authorities became depending. Due procedure seriously is not a similar. He could flow.

Because Gonzales is great. He knows the law.
You probably don't like him because he's anti-terrorist.
Amazing how many people worry more about the terrorists than they do their own family and countrymen.
