If the skin gives you a lot of pain then you need to see a podiatrist to shave off the calluses. Otherwise, soaking your feet and using a pumice stone should help you. Run to your nearest drugstore and pick up some good foot lotion or cream and rub into your feet at least once or twice a day for a couple of weeks. You'll see some results then. Good Luck!!!!

Hard as in callous?
If so, you can try over the counter Dr Scholls, callous remover, it will suck out the hard callous completely.

If you have hard skin feet... you should be taking more tender care of your feet, soaking them in hot water and foot soak.
Scrubbing with a pumice stone until skin is soft, them apply a rich moisture to your feet, and sleep with socks on, to lock in moisture.

But if you have a problem all over, you may need to see a specialist, so that he can prescribe something more serious for you.

Walk it off. Wait, that may have the opposite effect.
I've seen files that are used for taking off hard skin on feet. Check in the shower area of a department store maybe.

If it's just hard skin like a callous, use a pumice rock after you've soaked your feet in hot water to soften them up, other than that I don't know. Does it hurt?

My dermatologist recommends Eucerin cream for this. It's available over the counter. It has lanolin, which is one of the few ingredients that actually gets absorbed into the skin. Most lotions that claim to get absorbed really don't.

if the whole sole is hard like that, you should put your feet in some vinegar. and then when its softer, use the stone thing and rub it.
