Apparently it is not that hard to do considering current circumstances.

But how about this for a business answer line prompt?

"Welcome to the United States. Press '1' for English. Press '2' to be disconnected until you learn English."?

It's a complicated and drawn out process.

First the employer must make a good faith effort to fill the job w/ a citizen or legal resident. This means they need to put an ad in the paper, online etc.

Then they have to apply for an H1-B visa on your behalf and prove that they have tried to hire a US citizen. They spend a lot of money to do this.

After 9-11, it takes much longer. If they get you, they will have you by the b*lls and make you work alot or threaten to deport you.
