The ratings don't concern me in the least.

I can certainly understand the negative feelings resulting from a "Thumbs Down". Are you sure that it is one person, or is it the perception of your attitude in all of your responses? I can tell you first hand that I got a thumbs down on a question I answered honestly so I went back and read the question and my response and could see how the other readers may have misinterpreted my response. The big negative about email is that we cannot express tone or sarcasm.
Don't be to hard on yourself though, I'm sure you've seen responses you were less than thrilled about. At least we are posting this stuff in a place where our opinions can be expressed with the worst case scenario being a thumbs down.
Have a great day :o)

The thumbs up or thumbs down rating does not adversely affect your overall score, if such a thing is important to you. Many people don’t rate the quality of an answer on the basis how well it is written, or how cogent your argument is. The merely give a thumbs up or thumbs down depending on whether they agree with your answer or not. So I would not put to much stock in there opinion.

Poor Adder person, you've got 6 thumbs down as I'm typing this! I used to like being rated when it meant you got points for it, but without that notification, I don't usually pay any attention to what other people have thought about what I've put.
Sounds like you have a cyber stalker but I wouldn't worry too much, this isn't Tron is it, they won't follow you through cyberspace or crawl through the screen into your living room like The Ring. Anyway you have that cool knife icon thing to protect yourself, you'll be fine! I'm going to give you a thumb up to counterbalance a bit

OK lets look at this realistically is it going to make or break you and maybe these folks are annoyed by the things you have been asking or saying therefore they want you to pay attention to them so I would suggest you simply not play this childish game and move on to the next question or answer. Stalking is a little much don't ya think. What is a Troll by the way? can anyone tell me?

I just "thumbed down" your question. The fact that adderastros.com is temporarily down for renovation is really breaking my heart. I think, to answer your question, that it would make me feel a little bad to realize that I had been thumbed down, but if you read the ones he thumbed up, you realize that he is coming from a whole different perspective and in that sense his thumbs down is a compliment.

I think thumbs down ratings aren't good because the person who is rating you think you aren't good enough to answer a simple question. If you were answering somebody's question in a bad way then you'll get a thumbs down. There's something wrong with bad people thumbs downing you cause it's strange. Don't ask a question about personal things such as former friends doing something bad to you in a way.

I like getting a thumbs up. Of course I'm not going to cry if someone gives me a thumbs down.

No problem. We are allowed to express ourselves here within the bonds of basic decency. I'm sure my answers irritate and confuse plenty of people. And at times people think a question I pose is critical when its not. Thats okay. Free speech, don't you know? We can agree to disagree without being too nasty. (Sarcasm is tolerated, however!) I'll have to check for what you e-mail but I promise no trolling!

I'm always interested to know what people think of my answers, but I'm not going to cry hysterically if I get a thumbs down. Oh, and I think this is in the wrong section.
