I'm not too sure as to why. I had this teacher in second grade that was just awful toward the boys in the class. makes me wish sometimes that I would have dropped out also.

It's too bad you dropped out of school because of the female teachers. Maybe you are looking for an excuse to justify your decision. That being said I have two sons and in both cases I have seen blatant preference for female students over males. One teacher (kindergarten) even admitted she preferred girl students to boys. Needless to say she was transferred. I live on the Ontario/Quebec border
and my kids are educated in French by (mostly)
French Canadian women. The young ones have been great teachers. But the few I have had problems with have been older (old school ex nun types!!) I don't know your age but I have found that older female teachers (not in general just the few I have had to do battle with) can't seem to adjust to the high spirits of little boys.(Ritalin anyone?)
No my kids aren't perfect (far from it) but they are pretty bright and I firmly believe that boys learn differently from girls. That's not a bad thing or a good thing it's just the way it is and school boards should listen up. A lot of parents of boys have noticed the subtle "prejudice" over the past few years and there is quite a movement in our area
to monitor it.
Any way I hope you find your path. Sit down and examine your real reasons for quitting school. There are other schools, even private school with all male teachers. But examine your
own behavior, were you rude or insulting to the teachers? Did you show up to class, do your assignments, study a little? If you can say that you tried your best(honestly) Than turn around go back to school, give it your all and DON'T
LET THE BITCHES GET YOU DOWN. By you dropping out THEY WIN! Show them you are made of better stuff than they think you are.
Good luck to you.
Mother of a 10 and 15 yr old less than perfect,
but love them anyway boy children.

Wow, Have you ever thought that maybe your views on women might have really pissed off your female teachers. You are very prejudiced and if a female teacher made you this way then I am sorry for you but even if you met one bad female teacher then you just need to get over it. Try going back to school, but only with an open mind... If you walk into a classroom behaving this way, then you are going to get the reaction you expect, the teacher will be against you. Anyway good luck.

I am concerned that you dropped out of school. I am a female teacher. I am not biased against any of my students. Oh, wait... the ones that talk during my class, arrive tardy, and never do any class or homework...they really get on my nerves.
I think you should consider going back to school. The greater your education the greater your opportunities.

This is so bizarre - it is a horrible sweeping generalization to say things like this (along with some of your other questions about women teachers). Please realize that there are many female teachers who are excellent, well-balanced individuals who really do an incredible job of teaching both genders of children. I am thankful for many female teachers that I had who did not have any problems remotely similar to what you accuse all women teachers of, and in whose classes I learned a great deal.

Some female students complain that female teachers tend to favor male students.

Isn't calling female teachers prejudiced and abusive, a bit prejudiced?

Some female teachers don't like male students but others are completely neutral.

Sounds like you didn't have PAmela Smart as a teacher.

Perhaps you were a rotten student, always mouthing off, not sitting still, doing homework and generally treating school as your playground.

I'm sorry to hear you dropped out of school because of that.

I've had lots of female professors, and only one of them was abusive.
