Here is my typical meals per day:
Breakfast - plain oatmeal
Lunch tuna fish & fat free crackers, apple, banana and raisins
Dinner: Salad and a potato or maybe grilled cheese, or steak and baked potato w/ a veggie.
All day: LOTS of water, no pop, no coffee, no tea
Don't you think I'm eating pretty healthy? Why am I not thinner?

You are eating 3 meals a day. To curb the hunger you may also need to add more healthy snacks in between those meals. Exercise is also a key factor in weight loss. Do look into some of the websites that provide diet and nutrition information. Starving your body and not getting enough calories can also make it store fat. One other thing I have learned in life is Diet truly is the way you eat and live to maintain weight and health, not something you go on. A food diary is also helpful if you want to take a good look at what you are consuming during the day.

You will lose weight it you use more calories that you are taking in.

It's difficult to comment on the above since we don't know how tall you are, how old you are or how much you need to lose but if you are very sedentary, you may still be taking in more than you need or the size of the portions may be causing you problems. Steak is ok but not if it's the size of your plate - see what I mean.

If I were you, I'd weigh everything I eat and count the calories properly - it's dull but it works - and I'd buy a cheap pedometer and aim for 10K steps a day and the weight will fall off.

That's what all the fancy diets boil down to - eat less than you need and move more than you used to.

Hey...It looks like you might be eating too many carbs and that will make you starving. With Oatmeal you might want to add a 1/2 a cup of strawberries. For lunch you might want to add some more protein or if you have two slices of whole wheat bread it wouldn't add many calories (instead of crackers) but it will keep you full longer and you won't be starving. Also midday snacks are good. I always have a mini bag of 94% fat free popcorn and a diet pepsi and it keeps me full until dinner with hardly any calories. Good luck!!

Ok, it's not exactly how much you eat, it's what you eat and how much you exercise. You should eat whole grains, lots of veggies and such, try to cut back on the grilled cheese maybe. But mostly get out and exercise instead of trying to starve yourself skinny. If you eat right and exercise right you won't have to do the "I'm on a diet" thing. And you'll feel better.
