jesus said there will be many false teachers ,false doctrine,false religions....so where are they all.....i see them,and you could only see the false when your exposed to the truth.so why not debate for the truth,debates are good if their good debates and not religious pride.
to many christians are to passive and afraid to debate...why,if you know and see the truth stand up for it...i feel some are afraid to expose what is not truth......hope ya get my point....

Some false teachers,doctrine, ect. are obvious. Just takes common sense. ( If you are truely wanting the truth and not to debate for the sake of the arguement). As well, some teachers, doctrine, ect. are "wolves in sheeps clothing"( hard to detect).
You have to debate the people that disagree with you. You can't debate the ones that agree with you.
The more you read God's Word and pray the more you will personally come to know the truth. It will be easier to detect what is not.

I understand what your asking but there is always a right and a wrong way to debate. plus Jesus didn't say go and debate in my name. Or go and argue my case for my names sake. He said to preach the good news so that everyone who believes will be saved.
I am not passive but I will not be one of those so called representatives of Christ who tell non believers they are going to hell if they don't believe. Because all we do is push them farther away from the gospel.
There is always a time and a season for seeds that are planted in a non believers hearts to grow. It may not be right when you want it to but at least we planted a seed.
We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimonies and we love not our lives to the death.

How do we know that Christians know the true truth? What if the Muslims are right? I am sure that they think they are, and will "debate" the point also. The Jews are supposed to be God's chosen people, what makes Christian truth above that?

I think that religion has one purpose only: to introduce man to the Creator. Once it has done that, it's no longer useful. That's why there are so many false doctrines, principles and people leading the worlds religions today. Then again, I'm no more Christian than I am Muslim or Buddist.

Most religious people do not know the Bible enough to substantiate their beliefs. I would be glad to debate anybody who was serious; I know of 17 people converted as a direct result of a debate in Texas a few years back, and countless who will hear about it indirectly.

We are called to inspect the fruit of others including their church. All of Paul's letters had praise and admonishment for the person or church he was writing to. Jesus admonished the Pharisees as well.
The idea of the dormant door-Matt of a Christian is not right. Back in the day they used to rebuke others.

Yes I agree that is the truth. Everyone has their own opinion on God and it saddens me to no end. Some day they might see the light. But you have to believe in Him most of all

I totally agree with you. But these debates must be Bible based, otherwise we aren't debating Christianity, but our own thoughts or those of other men.
