You need to be very sure about this, as ten years from now you may feel very differently. I am an older person so my view point is from a different generation to you, however, yes for me it does have connotations of a less moral person. Why not try a henna one, at least it will go away later! Good luck. I know you can't judge a book by it's cover, though we often do.

Is anything really *completely* alright?
Getting a big tattoo, as with many other things, has consequences. There is some risk, however small, of getting hepatitis or other infection, having the artist make a mistake, etc. Do what you can to rule those out.
Plenty of people have less than perfect bodies. If you will enjoy having a tattoo then I don't think you should worry about what it will look like when your older. You can work with it--cover it up or highlight as appropriate.
As far as potential suitors, what potential suitors? What about the ones who want you to have a tattoo? Are we voting on whether or not you will get a tattoo?
If you have to ask strangers for advice on such a personal matter--and I'm not saying you shouldn't--you should give yourself plenty of time to get clear about how YOU feel about it. There will always be some people on both sides of the issue.

It's your body and you have the right to do whatever you like it. Tattooing at a reputable tattoo parlor is pretty safe, so it's not "dangerous." However, a tattoo is not a "once in a lifetime thing" - it is a "for the rest of your life" thing. You will not be able to get rid of or hide something that size, so you should be very sure this is something you will still be proud of when you are old.
However, it may indeed scare off potential suitors - some men do not care for large tattoos on women. That's their choice and they are totally justified in their own opinion.
You need to ask yourself what is more important to you - this tattoo or the potential suitors. You can also compromise, by getting a smaller tattoo, or getting the large one put on temporarily using henna to see how you like it and how people react to it.
The only opinion that really matters is your own, honey!

You say you are very sure about getting a tattoo, but at the same time are asking if it's alright. That makes me think you aren't completely sure this is the right thing to do. Until you can do it with no reservations, you shouldn't do it. As far as scaring off potential suitors - yes it will. There are guys who think a girl with tattoos is slutty looking. There are other guys who wouldn't mind sleeping with you, but wouldn't take you home to meet the family, and there are guys who would be fine with it. What kind of guy do you want? Your statement that life is too short to debate what is completely safe or dangerous strikes me as a bit immature. You might want to take some time to really think about this. It's not like buying a pair of pants on impulse, then deciding when you get home to return them to the store. This tattoo will be with you for the rest of your life.... on your wedding day, when you take your child to kindergarten, when you meet your husband's boss at the company picnic, when you vacation with the in-laws, etc. Just think about it.

Do you want the tattoo? Thats the only thing that should matter. And if a man likes you and then is scared off/turned off by your tattoo then he isn't the right one for you anyways. Im a married mother of 2 and I have 15 tattoos and most are very visible (arms, hand, neck, etc) I would say go for it...

This is something that will be on you for the rest of your life (unless you get laser surgery), so you really need to be sure of the type of tattoo, location and size. If the guy really likes you, it won't matter what you have on your body, being tattoos, piercings, etc. I have five tattoos, and I love them. It's all about what you are into.

The choice is your. Personally I'm not a fan of girls having tattoos. If you're going to get one go with something much more subtle!

Miss, that would look AWFUL.
YOU would look like a crazy 60 year old biker chick who...
WHY would you want to disfigure yourself like that?...WHY?
and Yes, you would scare off men! But you would attract: drug addicts, gang members, biker dudes, and every man who just got out of prison.
Do as you wish--that leaves more good men for women like me.
Peace

Do what you want. However remember furthur down the road when you are old there will be wrinkles and your tattoo won't looks so good anymore. It will look all shriveled and nasty.
