I disagree. You can spend a fortune on products at hair salons, but I have found that Pantene works beautifully for my hair. Everyone has specific problems (such as dry, oily, frizzy, etc) but you can find a product at a reasonable price at a drug store that will work specifically for your hair. And floor wax? Please, I think you are a little misinformed.
Do not buy into the hype! A higher price tag does not make a better product. Taking care of your hair (i.e. getting regular trims, taking a break from the blow dryer, curling iron and hair products) is the best way to keep your hair healthy and beautiful :)

Wow. You are very misinformed. I'm a chemist at a fragrance company, and I know Pantene base. It is formulated to clean and be gentle on the hair, improving the follicle. You really need to get your facts straight before you go off spouting ridiculous nonsense such as "Pantene includes floor wax."

How can you tell which one works better? Salon vs. Store bought products? I currently use Pantene and have no complaints... So if it works on my hair why not use it?

I've used both salon products and store bought products and I can tell a HUUUUGGGGEEE difference in my hair. Salon products are so much better. But I think for some it comes down to dollars and cents and not knowing what is in the products that they buy. My sister-in-law is a stylist and she told me years ago how bad cheap shampoos and conditioners were for my hair and it was some of the best advice anyone has ever given me.

Each product or brand reacts differently with each person. Pantene may work best for someone else, even if it doesn't work for you.
Redken's my choice, but it may be terrible for someone else. Don't worry what others are using, just use what's best for you.
