In the UK "do gooders" are trying to get a ban lifted by the authorities so that Fat women can get free IVF treatment.

This seems wrong. If Fat women have caused themselves to be unattractive that no one is prepared to have sex with them. It's their own fault.

On top of that as an issue, when their kids grow up they have to live with either:

The social stigma of having a fat Mum
Being fed sh*t food cos the mum obviously can't feed herself properly, and will pass this "skill" on so her kids will end up fat as well
and also that she is likely to die early from heart failure or some other Obesity related illness and leave her kids stranded or having to care for her.

Anyway i've said my bit. Anyone agree or disagree.

To start with Nhs don't give free IVF to single females only to couples who can't fall pregnant natuarally they shouldn't ban obese women but make it that they have to get treatment as obse is a disease not peolpe who don't know how to feed themselves waiting lists are approx 18 months to 2 years where I am and no I'm not fot I am a skinny size 8 and on the list for IVF and anybody willing to go through IVF will be willing to do anything to help as it isn't an easy option

I don't think the reasons you state are valid. But obesity can be a contributing factor to infertility, so losing some weight could mean natural conception instead of costing the NHS thousands of pounds. Also (costly) antenatal and postnatal complications can arise from obesity and put the woman's health at further risk. So I do think that obese women should be encouraged to lose weight before being granted IVF treatment.

Oh, so its not only OK to begrudge a 'fat' woman her right to a child in your opinion they are also unattractive too and not fit to be mothers, so what are you suggesting we do, take every child that has ever been born off a women who weights over 10st, isn't attractive and might have an heart attack, shall we put their kids into care and while were at it take all the other kids off their mothers too just on the off chance they might put on a bit of weight and lose their looks, the 'do gooders' of this world have gone mad and it seems a lot of bigots are joining in too.

The bigger issue here is about being healthy enough to have a baby without risking significant harm either to the mother or the child during or after pregnancy. Essentially this is an extension of the protocol that says that people who drink give up their place on the liver or kidney organ transplant list and people who smoke risk loosing their place on the lung transplant list. This is about people taking responsibility for their own health and wellbeing and the NHS, for once, trying to make the best use of its money.

You obviously don't need fertility treatment!!!
Some women have a medical reason for their weight, the medical reason can even be infertility!!! Loosing weight isn't an option for some women and just because they are big doesn't make them bad mothers. I am a larger lady because of medical reasons, have two wonderful kids because of fertility treatment, without it i would never have been a mum. My kids are very proud of me. We all eat healthily, exercise regularly, and have my gp's say so that i am one of the healthiest people he knows, i am not going to die early because of my weight, but will probably never lose it.
Don't tar all medically obese people with the same brush.

Why do you assume that these women are fat because they eat too much. A common cause of infertility in women is Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) which caused them to gain weight which is very difficult to lose.

I hate it when people make assumptions about another person. They have no clue what if going on in their lives. Perhaps you should learn to listen rather than judge!

My, but you have been busy , haven't you?
How many stupid stereotypes have you used in this question without ever giving any real, actual thought to it?
They do not want to give obese women this treatment even though some conditions, like poly-cystic ovaries for example, which prevent women from having kids make them fat not matter what they eat. But, apparently have no problem giving the treatment to smokers, who have chosen to kill themselves with this disgusting, dangerous habit.
CHECK YOUR FACTS BEFORE PUTTING THEM INTO THE WRITTEN WORD.

so you're saying anyone that isn't perfect shouldnt be allowed to have children?
why do you just limit to obese women? why not muslim women cuz we all know if they have a kid they will raise him/her to be a terrorist
what about deaf people they shouldn't have kids cause they will never be able to hear their kids whine so of course those kids will turn out to be obnoxious

So it's OK for single women for whom millions of taxpayers money is spent on in order for their children to have everything. So it's OK for lesbian women etc. etc.

Don't agree it should either be for all or none.
