it's much better to be a part of a performing group than to be in study hall. most kids get really bored in study halls because they don't really feel like doing their work during the school day unless it's in a classroom and the teacher has offered them the time to complete the work in class or do it for homework.

singing and playing instruments in an ensemble can be very rewarding but they do involve committment. you need to be responsible to the performing organization in a way that shows you are really in it, not just taking up space - otherwise it will be just as boring as a study hall. the more you put into it the more you'll get out of it.

have fun and do music! never heard a parent say 'quitting the trumpet was the best thing i ever did." most say just the opposite, " i wish i didn't quit the trumpet'

good luck!

Personally I was a band geek, but you should do something that you'll want to continue through high school, it seems like chorus is that activity for you. However, if you like your nights free from homework, study hall might be good for you. It depends on where your priorities are! :)

i was in choir and it was the BEST decision of my high school career. i made so many friends and i learned so many life experiences there. i know that it sounds corny, but it's true. you cant really get that from study hall. if i were you, i would do choir, however it depends on what you like more... singing or playing an instrument...but it sounds like you dont know how to play any instrument but piano [NOTHING wrong with that... it's going to be great for you later in life!!! keep up playing piano!!!!] so if you dont want to learn it/spend the time learning a new instrument, GO WITH CHOIR.

good luck to you!

do study hall, unless you have a real passion for either band or chorus,(and if you did, you wouldn't be hesitating and asking this question) then you would just be wasting the teachers' time.

Study hall unless you're the type of student who cares what huge universities think and want your extracurricular to have something more on it.
