John 21
How he made the fire is not mentioned. The importance of the fire is that it was a charcoal fire, not wood. There is only one other charcoal fire mentioned in the Bible, and that is the one that Peter was warming himself by the night of Jesus trial when he denied Jesus three times.

Now, as the two of them sit by another charcoal fire, Jesus ask Peter three times if he loved him. The first two times Peter proclaims that he does. The third time, however, a different Greek word is used for "love", as Peter actually says "I'm at least a friend..."

At that point, Peter repented of his denial of Jesus several nights before, and is able to receive the forgivenss Jesus was offering him.

That is what was important in the story, not how the fire got lit.

This was the third time Jesus appeared to His apostles after He rose from the dead.

John 21:.9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.

It was another one of Jesus miracles.

He might have started a fire with a bow, like Boy Scouts do today while camping. The Bible doesn't say. Does it really matter?

nobodiesinc,
It says that there were coals. Did he make coals, or perhaps there were fires lit by the shore before. I don't know.

I've got something for you.

It also says that there were 153 fishes. Why give us that number?

He could turn water into wine. He could walk on water. He had the power to heal people! I'm sure he didn't need anything to conjure up a stupid little fire.
