If you have a people aggressive dog, you need to find a reputable trainer who has experience with aggressive dogs. You CAN revert this behavior with training, giving him up is not your only option. Until then, keep your dog and friends seperated.

First off how bad of an attack a little bite or a full blown ATTACK?
Has your dog ever been around your Friend before?
Did your friend do something to scare or hurt your dog ?
Dogs have feelings too sometimes there not having a good day ether.
If your dog did the unthinkable knock down several bites drew blood ATTACK you should have it put down.
Don't take to shelter your dog may not show signs of aggression until the nice little 5yr old child says mommy lets take that one the shelter is no the place for an aggressive dog trust me.
If your friend only got a little nip you can get Training for your dog.
But ask yourself and your friend could we have done something to cause this. Dogs are not generally aggressive towards people
There are some breeds to watch out for they have tendency's to even turn on there owners Chow,Rottweilers,Pit Bull, and Don't everyone chew me i not saying that they will attack there owners just that it has happened before.

Is there a reason you can see for this agressive behaviour. If you can find the source of the problem it will be easier to fix. Try using a kennel for awhile until you can get a trainer to work with you and your dog to remedy this problem. You will want to slowly introduce your dog to your friends possibly with the friend offering a treat while the dog is in a sit stay. I hope this helps!

Make sure that one of your friends dosen't get bitten, cause then "SUE"!!!! So a muzzle would work or get a professional to work with or train him/her. Another option would to put the dog in a seperate room, crate, carrier, dog run, or something like that when your friends are over your house. But like I said be careful if your dog ends up biting one of your friends or anyone it will be on your hands and you will have to end up getting rid of the dog.

If you've got an agressive dog, either obedience training or get rid of him. You cannot trust this dog not to attack you next.

Find a good trainer who is used to working with problem dogs. Be aware, there are alot of crappy trainers out there. Stay away from classes at Petsmart and Petco, most if not all of their 'trainers' have no business teaching obedience.

OK first why does he attack. if he has a reason( for real) do you want this friend. otherwise the dog needs training, or to be kept separated during visits.good luck.

Give him treats and say Good Dog! your friends probably want to borrow money anyway.

don't get rid of it by taking it to the pound, spca or giving it away, that just puts the problem somewhere else. If your dog is that agressive, have it put down. Don't dump your problem somewhere else.

Get rid of him or be prepared to face lawsuits, fines, and ultimately having your dog taken away anyway.
