I don't really know what I would do. I'd probably give mine up for adoption, because I wouldn't know how to handle a handicapped
child.

No, absolutely not. I have a son with Down syndrome and I never once considered abortion. Thank goodness, because he is the light of my life.

You say you wouldn't know how to handle a handicapped child... well honey, none of us are prepared for it, but as it turns out, you handle them with love and affection, caring and understanding, encouragement and patience. They will amaze you everytime.

Furthermore, what would you do if you had a "normal" baby and when the child was a bit older, let's say 8 years old, had some accident theat rendered him disabled or "disfigured" in some way? You can't abort an 8 year old. You just accept that there are no guarantees in life, we all have obstacles to overcome, but in my experience, there is no greater joy than watching my child grow and develop and do all the things any other kid can do...even if it takes them a bit longer to do so.

You are not 100% positive this baby is going to be special. Miracles happen and you should give the baby a chance at life. God sees all men as created equally and that baby will be no different if it is handicapped. If you feel like you cant handle it adoption is always an option but never abortion that's like going up to a close friend or a sibling and just stabbing or shooting them. Hope you make the right choice.

No I would not get an abortion cause this new life coming into this world deserves a chance and if you think you can not handle it, he give the baby up for adoption cause there are so many people out there that can't have babies that would love to take care of a special child.

You know what's crazy? I was thinking about this earlier today! Anyway, probably not. I already had an abortion, and it's something I hope I don't have to go through again. I think people with Down Syndrome are the sweetest things, but they are also a lot of work. But it's not likely that I would get an abortion if my child had that. I say it's not likely, because you never know what to future will bring.

All Life is precious, retarded, or deformed. These children need our love as much as a healthy child does. How do you handle a handicaped child, the same way as a healthy child, with love and care. The answer is Absolutely NO!

You are the only one who can make that decision. Personally, I'm pro-choice. No one can convince you either way. Think about the quality of life that child would have if born and what needs he/she would demand from his caregivers, even if that person is not you. Will anyone be able to adopt this child? Are you old enough to get an abortion? What does the father think? There are so many factors to take into consideration before making the decision. I think it would be best to sit down with a non-biased person who will provide you with options and opportunities regardless of your choice. Planned Parenthood or a local pregnancy crisis clinic should be able to help.

No! Abortion is WRONG!! Even if the kid is handicapped, give him a chance to live. He might even turn out to be one of the best kids you have ever meet in your life. So...... give the kid a chance and see what happens. I know there will be good times and bad times but everything will turn out fine because you let that child live.

No, I think that abortion is wrong. If I had a handicapped child I would educate myself on it and take the best care for him as I could.

No I wouldn't. I dont think I could create a baby just to murder it. I am not sure I would even give it up for adoption. I created that life and I would love that life no matter what. If I was finantially able to care for the child without endangering it I would keep it.
