If you going to cook a prime cut of steak (such as NY Strip, Rib Eye, Top Sirloin) in the oven - do not bake it - broil it.

It really also depends on the thickness of the steak for how long you are going to broil the meat.

Go to this website and it will tell you how to broil and how long to broil at steak (different cuts and thicknesses):

Only bake round steak, with a topping such as mushroom soup or tomatoes in juice. About 45 minutes at 375, after searing first, should do it.

Better cuts should be broiled or grilled, or at least pan fried.

first off, you don't BAKE steaks...baking is a term used for cakes and sweets. ok so u put the steak in a pan with oil and let it cook until it is no longer raw and turns brown...depending on how cooked you want it...like if u like ur steak medium well you would cook it for a shorter time than if u want it well done. hope this helps for the next time u enjoy some steak!

To bake a steak is evil. Grill or broil it. You'll know its done when it isn't bleeding anymore.

Grill, never bake a steak. Cooking time? Depends on how you like it. Well done, medium, medium rare or rare.
