I am baptist and I love my religion. I have a respect for all religions and I do not bash others for what they believe or don't believe. I never try and push my beliefs on others but I see many who do this. I was wondering are you like me or do you like to debate?

I am exactly like you...except I am mormon. It's stupid to debate over religion. You can never PROVE that you are right and the other is wrong. If you do try to debate, you are NEVER going to get the other person to say, "Oh...you're right! I've been such a fool all of my life! I am converting right now!"

I'm not very religious at all but I do have to say that I find your view on religion to be really refreshing and I respect that a lot.

I was raised Baptist/Methodist and the churches that I went to unfortunately did not think like you, they were the Fundamentalist Baptist churches that shoved their beliefs down other people's throats.

I'm up for a religious debate, but I also hold a great amount of respect for people like you who believe what they want to believe but accept the fact that not everyone either wants to believe or does believe.

Thank you for being the way you are.

I like to debate. I'm not a Baptist. So then, I'm not like you in these regards. I never try and push my beliefs. I respect most religions and I don't give a rats potato what you or anyone else chooses to believe. So then, in these regards I am like you. Half and half, how about that! I could meet you half way, there's hope!

I was born and raised a Baptist as they say. I feel the way you do. If someone asked what I think or believe about something then I will tell them. Otherwise I try to keep quiet. I also believe that most, if not all, religions were started by mankind based on what they believe to be the truth.

A good debate is always fun, but when it comes to deeply felt opinions and beliefs they can get intense and respect can fly out the window.

Although I am not christian, I grew up in that environment and one of the tennants is to spread the word, to teach and share the knowledge... I think this is where christians get into trouble with the pushing and the shoving.

Then you have other religions that inspire their own brand of fanaticism...

It would be nice if more folk were as laid back as you... :)

I don't like to push my beliefs on others, I believe in "Live and let live." I respect others for their beliefs, especially different religions. BUT, it is so hard not to try and debate with all the Christian bashers on here! Sometimes the things that are said make no sense and it makes me sad that people don't believe in God.

At last one intelligent person who respects other people`s beliefs. I don`t like how many individuals try to debate religion in this site, they are extremely intolerant and bash others who think differently. Very sad indeed.

I'm an atheist, not a baptist, but otherwise I feel the same as you. I only debate with people when they are rude and bash me for my beliefs (or lack there of.) Myself, I don't mind that not everyone is an atheist. I can see the point of most religions and accept that I could be wrong. I agree with you, quite frankly.

I like to debate, but not to push my beliefs on others. I truly believe that the Diety reaches out to everyone differently. I like hearing what others think. Granted, I get nasty sometimes - usually for one of two reasons: either the person was disrespectful or I think I can get a good laugh from people by saying something that some might consider blasphemous. (oops. sorry.) But I TRY to be respectful of everyone's right to believe what seems right to them.

No debate for me. I'm also very open minded about religion. I'm a Baptist too. Have a wonderful night.
