Great question.
Why are you shy? If you are shy there must be a reason. If you are the typical everyday guy out there here is what you do...it worked for me.
FORCE yourself to speak to girls in everyday situations. Talk to your waitress, classmates, and cashiers like normal people...but about the menu, school, and your purchase. Limit your initial conversations to strictly business. Stuff that you can easily bring up and they have to talk to you about.
When you get better at this, start talking to girls you don't know. Just practice dude. Remember that there is no one out there that came out of the womb acting like James Bond with the ladies. You'll be fine.

I'm thinking it's either your age (way young) or your self-esteem. Being I had neither as a teenager, it made things excruiating as well. I've grown to realize that like celebrities, women are just people too; although they have some fun toys you get to play with when you're no longer shy with them.
You probably are attracted to the ones you're most shy around. It's okay though. Try finding attachments with girls that could just be pals or buddies and work your way up to where you're comfortable with all types of women (and people) in general.

You are afraid of rejection. Your shyness can be an asset and a liability at the same time. Be confident, and the girls will notice. Be as aloof as you can be, and girls will notice you. But shyness can help too because some girls hate cocky jerks.

It's mostly because of lack of confidence, or fear of rejection. But they are ok. you may fear to mess it up, or to be rejected, but boy! you never cannot learn to communicate without giving it a try! and if some one rejected you, so be it! you can always find another one. It doesn't mean you are not good, you maybe just not good for her or vice versa! just keep going and you'll see. BE A MAN!

You tell one girl why you are shy. After that, it's not so bad anymore. Trust me, I was shy until I was 23. Now I am appropriately frisky.

I think your prob. is self confidence and the fear of rejection. and the only way to get over it is if you try talking to one. it's pretty easy just be your self now that what ever happened it's not the end of the world.

..............Ahh, a social butterfly.
You're shy infront of girls, because your inhibition is stopping you, your afraid they are going to reject you, physically, or verbally because you obviously either have low self esteem, or you don't know how attraction works.

Could it be because you don't know what to say in front of girls? Relax and just be yourself.
