Of course, no one should spend so much time with their head in the clouds examining deep questions that they miss out on living life. But, that said, there is a deep-rooted instinct for discovery in the human brain. It is this natural awe and wonder that lead us to stare at stars, tell stories, explore over the next ridge and probe our existance with science. "Unweaving" a rainbow does not diminish its beauty! We can ask questions and still enjoy and appreciate life.

I think living for today is what more people do. I personally don't see too many people side-tracked in life searching for meaning. We're here like it or not, and we strive to enjoy what ever we can.

The human brain is predispositioned to be a "meaning making machine".
It is almost impossible to convince it otherwise.
