i'm of the ?en- camp, nevertheless the two pronunciations are suited. Merriam-Webster has this to declare on the project: The ?en- and ?än- pronunciations are used with approximately equivalent frequency, and the two are completely suited, nevertheless the ?än- version is each and every so often decried as “pseudo-French.” fairly ?än- is strictly what one would assume to hearken to while a French be conscious like entrepreneur is turning out to be anglicized. Envelope, although if, has been in English for almost 3 hundred years, a great number of time for it to grow to be thoroughly anglicized and for the two certainly one of its pronunciations to win respectability.

I pronounce it Onvelope because that's the way it was pronounced when it was borrowed from French - plus I speak French and it would be weird to say it two different ways.
