I read that a metal detector is an illegal posession in Turkey. I am going to Turkey and wondered if I smuggled one in for fun would it set off the metal detector at the airport?

A hand held metal detector that is used for inspection in the airport or even in mall can absolutely detect another metal detector. Even a blade or knives can be detected through it. Obviously, metal detector is made of metal too, therefore it will be detected.

Instead of Midnight Express I prefer watching *Prison Break* or *Shawshank Redemption* they also show the legal stuff of all countries, trust me u will like it...
And answer to your question dude, i gues u might get into a trouble, u know why coz history smuggling is a big crime in everywhere to steal their history from them. So, once u get beeped with a metal detector, u might be accused of being one of those ppl, even tho. u r not, it might take some time. Coz, once it happened to one of my friends at Heathrow, he went back to London and took some diet stuff and the police saw and thought it was heroine kinda thing, and it got him into trouble and took some time to explain it wasnt. So, security is always security for every country. Just be careful and dont do that, sounds like let the dentist pull out ur tooth which doesnt ache, make any sense? capish?lol...
