Downloading or installing Microsoft Office / Word without a legitimate license (i.e. payment) is illegal.
I would suggest you try a free suite developed to replace MS Office called OpenOffice:

Nope. Microsoft Word is one of those things you really need but you need to cough up some cash to get. Sorry.
Suggestion I : Try shopping around for the lowest-priced MS Word and buy it! :)
Suggestion II: Try Writely, Google's online word processor @ writely.com.

Try open office. its free and supports *.doc format.
