One time my family went to Disneyworld. I spent the entire stay thinking of reading books. Fun is, indeed, relative. I also usually dislike being touched and enjoy solitude. And you know what? There's nothing wrong with that. Stay yourself and don't change to make your friends happy.

There really isn't anything wrong with being anti-social. There are lot of very healthy intelligent people who just don't LIKE people. My sister is the same way. she doesn't like being in crows groups of people, she is happiest alone with a good book. Fun is a relative word, while some people might think that "amusement parks" are the definition of fun, other people despise them. Surely you have your own definition of fun, and things that are enjoyable to you. If so, thats healthy. As far as therepy what do you think. Do you feel satisfied with your life, and the way you are? Are you depressed? Only you can decided whether or not you need therepy, and if someone tries to make you go, it wont do any good, because you will reject it. Tell your FRIENDS to loosen up and leave you alone, and think about what is best for you.

So, what is your question? In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with solitary. However, if people really think you spend too much time alone, and you notice that you hardly ever hang out with people, or smile for that matter, maybe you should try and go out. Start by making short plans with one of your friends on the weekend. Have it be at a place you know you won't despise, and only make it for an hour. That way, you can start to get in the habit of socializing. Maybe you will come to like being around people who common interests.

Your friends are right! What human being hates to laugh? You're obviously bothered by it or you wouldn't be asking for advice. Take a trip to see a professional and see what they can do for you. Don't be embarrassed by it either. There is nothing wrong with someone who is trying to improve themself. The therapist can help you find out why you like to be alone or why you don't like fun things, etc. I've been to therapy myself and if nothing else it's always nice to talk to someone who doesn't judge you.
