As a hairstylist, I can tell you that you probably should not try this at home however, I will give you some advice. First off, if the bottom of the hair is darker, you need to go to Sally's beauty Supply store and get the following: 1. Clarifying Shampoo 2. 20 volume developer(regular if lighting up to 2 stages of hair or solite 10 vol for lifts up to 4 levels of color 3. bleach (vlights if they have it) Your hair will only lift up to 4 levels of color and don't expect to be blonde blonde. Mix 2 oz of 1,2, and 3 together. You will use that on your ends only. Process until color is achieved and you may use this up to 50 min. No more than that. You do not want to bleach the whole entire head. You will DEFINITELY be DISSATISFIED. The solution above is what we call a soap cap. It helps protect your hair but still lifts old color out. Color won't lift color only bleach. Once you get the desired level you can tone down to what color you want. You want to be at least 1 to 2 shades lighter than other color to tone it. Toning usually takes an approximately 5-10 minutes. I hope this will help you out.

I have the same problem, but you know what I realized after looking natural blonds? Theirs is the same. It's rare to find a true blond whose hair isn't actually many shades darker towards the nape of the neck.
By the way, have to share a home dye job gone bad. I usually go for the golden blond look, but after a while the color will start to look brassy. So I thought I'd fix the problem by using an ash blond shade. Oops! My hair turned green. You can't imagine my face when I got out of the shower on a Sunday evening and found I had hair the color of a honeydew melon. I had to go to work with a scarf on the next day, until I could get to a salon and had to spend $150.00 to fix the damage. From then on, I always go to a good colorist when it's time to touch up my color.

The only thing I would recommend trying at home is dying all of your hair a single color. Don't try bleach, you'll end up with a mess and have to pay a lot of money to have a stylist fix it, not to mention damaging your hair.

After reading your question a couple times...I would suggest you go to a specialist who knows exactly what to do. No sense making a mess out of your lovely hair. You can damage your hair if you start experimenting. Your hair is porous and it can only absorb so much hair dye....the hair stylist can look at your hair and figure out what is the best way to treat your hair with the safest products...

You would have to bleach all over because there wouldn't be a way to match your hair hair exactly. You can do it yourself, but for a big job like this, I would suggest a professional. Are you going to know what to do with your hair if you mess it up? Good Luck

watch that bleaching stuff.
did you use a bleach or a tint?
tint's are easier on the hair with more gentle results.
bleaching? well.. don't bleach what you already had.. it'll make the hair weaker and harder to manage.
just touch up the parts you want to match with the rest of the hair and trim the ends.
it will help alot!
since now the elasticity of the hair's been weakened.

If i was you i would just stick to just the bleach, dont apply it to the whole of your hair, have full head highlights. These will blend into your hair without as much damage as applying it all over. Plus your roots wont be as bad when your hair grows! x x

Hi there, unfortunately, I think you should go to a specialist. For the amount of money you are spending on coloring products you can get your hair colored. Mine costs $75. Good luck!

Your ends may be darker because they are damaged and "grabbed" more color than your root to mid shaft of your hair. It's best to probably have your hair trimmed and have it professionally colored, because it will be too difficult to do yourself with bleach and will simply damage your ends more. Been there done that. Good luck.
