Compressing files should not affect the "quality" of the file; however, it will decrease the computer's performance ( speed ) when opening ( uncompressing ) them.
Alternatively, you will save drive space by compressing the files, so it depends on whether space or performance is more important to you.

When you compress your files, you do not lose quality. It just means that the files must be UNcompressed when you want to access them. I'd recommend compressing ONLY your data files like photos, music, videos, etc...
And only ones that you don't use much anymore (archives)

i suggest doing it for folders and files which you do not frequently use. Do not compress Windows or System folders. That way the OS will have to spend extra time decompressing the file before putting it to use.

you probable do no longer decide for to compress data. it is going to decelerate your pc plenty. Disk Cleanup is showing you methods lots disk area it estimates may be freed if maximum data have been compressed. yet disk drives are so low-value it makes lots greater experience to get a clean one than to sluggish your pc down. it is not perplexing to get a brand newchronic and circulate each and everything to it. maximum drives comprise the required application and precise training. then you definately can give up having to unencumber disk area.
