Africa has much worse corruption than any other continent. I do not buy the argument that Africa's problems are due to the West's meddling. It's not true.

because those hacks bob geldof, bono, and the rest of the live 8 people stupidly think that by throwing money at african nations, particulary those which are run by despotic leaders such as robert mugabe in zimbabwe and of which are destroying their own country, it'll solve everything overnight. what a load of crap. and that africa seems to deny that their continent has elements of corruption running through it.

regrettably as US, China and different international places rush to snap up the organic recources in Africa the agencies/international locations in touch have a protracted historic previous of paying off the international places rulers and ignoring the plight of the huge-unfold African. its a similar undertaking you observed in Venezuela the place there have been extensive oil salary going to three related people and no benefit in the direction of the mass majority of the poor regrettably we've found out not something from this and are repeating it repeatedly lower back assume greater despots, greater civil wars, greater diamond wars, greater genocides and greater mass starvations untill the colonial powers make certain its time to play honest or the interior reach populations overthrow thier governments (which if historic previous is any instruction manual in user-friendly terms leads lower back to the identical ingredient in any case)

Cause they don't live in a democratic state. Cause their government is overpowering it's poor people. Cause they don't help their own people, they starve them to deadth, they don't create them jobs over there. Cause if these folks were to get educated, than the government would loose their power, cause these people would be able to take over and change the outcomes in Africa. That's why there is corruption. I feel bad for my pen-pal friend in Kenya. He can't find another job as a Medical Technician. I hope one day that will change for him and his country!

My Dad used to say Root of all evil is literacy rate.

if the people in africa and other underdevloped countries increase their literacy rates by investing more money in education then we can see a faster decrease in the corruption, hatred and lot of other evils plauging their societies.

Same reason the United States can't. make laws and not enforce them, let illegals in and wonder why the crime rate goes up. They show how much they respect the law when they break it to get here.

because throwing aid money at africa teaches them to be helpless. the western world says it wants to help africa but it doesn't really because if it did it would let them trade on equal terms, but it won't allow that because it would mean a reduction in our quality of life
