mutterhals,
I could see why someone might think that. To some that don't hear His voice, many things are misunderstood. On top of that, we have the Roman Catholics confusing things further by making transubstantiation the order of things.

In the Roman Catholic frame, I would agree witht he writer. In the Protestant frame, they were symbols to remember him by, as He directed. The symbols are " Bread= His body, "with His stripes, we are healed", and Wine- redemption. They were never meant by Jesus to be literal blood and literal body, any more than getting dunked and pulled out of water was to literally be death and resurrection.

catholics believe that it really does turn into the body and blood of christ, but protestants believe it is a symbol. it is simply a difference of what your religion teaches you. i don't personally consider it to be cannibalism.

Hmmm,

Catholics believe in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharest.

That does not make us cannabils though!

Jesus said "This IS my body" He did not say "This is a representation of my body"

Peace!

no. you need to look beyond the flesh thing. the bread SYMBOLIZES the body and the wine SYMBOLIZES the blood that Jesus sacraficed. no one is eating any flesh here.
