They should be separate.

Government should provide basic services and you and I should be free to worship (or not) as we wish.

Peace!

Government and religion are very much the same thing. Both are systems with rules and regulations. Why not put them hand in hand and like you said, justify the government with religion in an attempt to give it a good image? Religion and God are two totally different things.

in the U. S. there's a structure, and that lays out guidelines about the 'separation of church and state' that can make it not conceivable the following to 'outlaw faith' ... and that i'm sorry yet i'm what you ought to call an 'psychological' (sensible man or woman who can imagine and rationalization for myself), and that i'm also a 'good Catholic' and someone who believes the 'theory of evolution' is very darned good to describe the 'boom' of humanity over animals, and so on. My mom's brother (my uncle) changed into an Atheist and a Political technology Professor, who changed into married to a committed Episcopalian ... and they both ought to trust me that faith can't be 'outlawed' in the U.S. we do not have a 'international authorities' and if the present U.N. is any signal of 'what ought to come' then we've a minimum of a century before we extremely favor to 'difficulty' about a 'globalized authorities' ... so when you're 'committed' and are 'frightened' I advise that you 'get entangled' in 'politics' and instruct to human beings that 'intellectuals' must be 'committed,' too.

The United States was based on Christanity.
They base their original rules on the 10 Commandments.
Have "In God We Trust on Money".
They used to teach the Bible in schools.
Now, things are going all screwey. Sex is the most important thing in society.
Take God out of schools, and look what happens, society is falling apart.

There is no government more heinous than which purpots to act for the people on behalf of God....how many people have to die in God's name?

And there is no religion more corrupt than one which purpots to represent the people's interest...look at abortion rights and how lack of it affects many women.....

Not a good combination. I thought the church was supposed to be separate from the government.

thought systems such as gov't and religion are parts of discovering how the mind works, and their differences are like that of the differences b/w logic, intuition, and emotion as they try to work simultaneously to grasp the meaning of the law of gravitation and the utilization of the cosmic ray

that is true in more of the ancient times with the romans and greeks and what not. they acted and then claimed the gods backed them up (that is unless they failed then the gods deserted them). in the now times i think instead of it being religious based fights its more to do with power and money.
