Showing similalities and differences of something..
e.g an ape is like a human becoz they both walk upright on two limbs
an ape differs from human beings becoz it's skin is covered with fur while human's skin by hair.

This is easy...when you give a comparison you describe the things that are the same . Example....grapes and a ball...they are round and come in several colors...Contrast would be the things that make them different example...a ball can bounce, a grape is for eating! Hope this was helpful.
