Though I perefer Singapore Airlines.............but I would like to make a comment NOW based on the answers I have read so far on this particular question...even to myself.

It depends on your mood, the destination where you are going, the time of flight, and attention you get during the flight that makes the flight memorable. The same flight can't be better or worst for two different individuals. Like, so many times I have travelled through Thai Airways and my experience was 'so-so' and even my colleagues rate is worst, but I find some people praising it....so I would say that it depends...if you are trying to choose an airline for your travel based on the recommendations of others.

To the poster up above a ways: Now why should an airline get a good rating because the staff are CUTE and YOUNG? These CUTE, YOUNG women were totally discombobulated during the last crash of an asian airliner, and reportedly did nothing to help evacuate the passengers. Hey, but CUTE and YOUNG will be the last vision you have on earth.

hrm.. if you are looking for comfort and really good dining food on board then i would definately suggest that you take thai airlines. the crew members are really sweet and they work round the clock with a smile on thier faces. Food on board is excellent and the seat pitching is wider than many other airlines. But remember, Thai airlines flight lack entertaintment. unless you are lucky and go onboard thier new planes. It is because they only have 1 projector tv in one area of thier planes.

So, if you plan to just sleep and be served then Thai is definately your choice.

And if you want someting moderate, i would recomend Malaysian airlines as well. Own entertaintment system, moderate food and good service.

last time I flew from Vancouver, Canada to Manila in the Philippines....I flew Air Canada to Osaka Japan and then Thai Airways on to Manila...no comparison....Thai Airways had many more flight attendants, much younger and cuter, and better food. All the Air Canada in-flight crew were rushed off their feet, were the senior staff and mostly had gray hair...competant but defensive when I said how Thai Airways had many more staff.

Its hard to beat any of the Asian airlines...they love to cater more than others....plus the airlines have more restrictions, and demand the crew quits after having a child or getting married..

Srilankan Airlines is good for inflight service & prompt connections. But they have limited network.

Emirates is good as well, since they have tie up with Srilankan Airlines & Thai Airways.
