This is symbolic , the flesh is consider the Word of GOD, and the Blood represents Life. Any more questions, I don't mind educating you.

Good question! Here is what I found on EWTN.com's Q&A:

One has to be very careful about drawing an analogy between the students eating the flesh of their dead companions in order to survive and Christ offering us his body and blood for our salvation. When Christ first told his audience that they must eat his flesh and drink his blood, many turned away from him. They chose to think that Christ was telling them to do a horrible thing. They chose to think in purely human terms and so chose to think that Christ was crazy. (John 6) Christ is really speaking in a noble and high way of how he wishes to be in union with his followers. Christ is thinking of his real presence under the appearances of bread and wine, a presence which the one receiving communion comes in contact with. The whole experience is mysterious, sacred, high-- not a revolting one at all. Those who are mocking and irreverent call this sacred rite a kind of cannibalism practiced by savage tribes. That is disgraceful. So you do not want to press the example too far. It is through Holy Communion that people are saved. But that is a great mystery which must be guarded. I have heard that in the early Church the Christians never even talked about this truth to outsiders because they would immediately misinterpret and mock it.

Dr. Geraghty

The only thing that I would add is that the Eucharist is a physical sign of God's love for us--He loves us so much and wants to be so close to us that he literally wants to be inside us--be a part of us! Isn't that kind of love amazing? It reminds me of the love of groom for his bride! (Ephesians 5).
Thanks for posting your question! God Bless!

i understand wht ur question is,, but my friend,,, why do u want to relate something that humans practice to religion,,,, everwhere in the world, people eat flesh, and drink blood(well some do), no where it is related to religion,,,
ok if u wanna relate it to religion, here u go........
i am a Hindu,, from india,,, i eat flesh that doesnt mean i am cruel or something,,, it is in our scriptures , to eat flesh in some events,,, God tells u what is good and what is BAD,, why dont a muslim entertain eating pig, why dont a Hindu entertain eating Beef,,,,
according to me , there is no hindi, no muslim and no christian,, we are all humans, and we shud abide to nature,,, God doesnt ask u to eat something ,, U do it urself,,,
Religion has got nothing to do with what we do,,,,

Oh, erm, sorry, got caught up with the fun of old movies there. *grin*
It's not something I agree with either...cannibalism or making a story of cannibalism and calling it spiritual.

Yes it is cannibalism.

No all Christians are not cannibals. Only ROMAN CATHOLICS think that the bread and wine is transformed into actual flesh and blood.
Protestants don't believe that.
