We'll I've noticed alot of people have been saying their for taxing things that slowly lead to killing people over time....well what about all these nasty foods and fake sugars that cause cancer, birth defects and diabeties.
I DO NOT SMOKE.
THIS PROP IS FUNDED BY HOSPITALS.
and 40% of the profits from this tax if passed will go to hosptals.
Plus It allows hospitals to tax alot of the general public with no top out...meaning even more money out of out pockets and into theirs.

This isn't about helping people its about helping hospitals...as a company

AND to continue, think about the crime that will result? a 500 dollar truck load could turn into a 1500 dollar truck load. Crime from cigar and liquor store will sky rocket. People will start buying it in other states or countries and boot legging it here. DO NOT REPEAT HISTORY, this all seems to be leading up to prohibition.

It's outrageous! I don't smoke but tobacco is already highly taxed. When California first implemented high tobacco taxes, the proceeds were to go to schools, and somehow, as it always does, the millions and millions of dollars were siphoned off for other projects and administration costs for new bureaucracies, Every time there is an increase in funds, another bureaucracy is set up.
Smoking is on a very steady decline , hence the additional taxes,;
the taxes are on the decline, the new programs it paid for will remain and more taxation of the general public will be implemented. I'm voting NO!

The tax propositions sole purpose unfortunately like many other past propositions is to cover the medical bills not paid by the illegal immigrants. The federal Government must give the the States permission to deny emergency care to people which is not a real emergency. These people are clogging up our health care system. No more anchor babies.

I'm all for taxing people when it comes to smoking. Of course it's easy to say since I'm not a smoker, but I hate to see people slowly killing themselves. The taxes just might slow some of them down. Personally I think cigarettes should be $20 a pack...it would be alot easier for some people to quit.

Anything to keep tobacco under control is allright by me. Tobacco use serves no earthly good. The consequences of tobacco use have contributed to the high cost of medical care and insurance rates in our country. If there is high taxes on those cancer sticks maybe no one will sell them anymore and the cost will be so prohibitive that people will quit.

Our government is running out of ways to tax us. Remember the snack tax where they even got kids to pay taxes?
