I have been on 2 carnival cruises, and I am taking another one next month. I had a blast, what bad experience did anyone have with them, some people are not sounding too happy with them!

I have been on about 8 cruises. I have been on Royal Caribbean, Princess, Holland America, Carnival, Windstar and Windjammer. I have cruised the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Mexico, transatlantic, northern European, Alaska, and Tahiti. For the most romantic, relaxaxing and total pampering and uncrowded the best was the Windstar Windsong out of Tahiti. I enjoyed all of my cruises however the big lines are pretty crowded. The Windjammer barefoot cruise was a real adventure, very small basic but really cool small islands down in the Caribbean. Entertainment consisted of hermit crab races, lounging in the rigging of the tall ship, lots of snorkel or scuba. Good for the young single crowd. Only about 100 passengers. The Windstar line had 120 passengers and 92 crew members. Mediterranean very interesting with lots of historical sites. Transatlantic very cool because we went to Iceland and Greenland and Newfoundland and sailed into New York harbor at Dawn singing America the Beautiful, the Star Spangled Banner past the Statue of Liberty. I have never had a bad cruise but there have been a few problems with the service usually on Carnival.

We went on Carnival twice: once the 3 day cruise to Baja, Mexico and once the 7 day cruise in the "Mexican Riveria" and we had no complaints. Both times we went during the lowest priced time of the year, which is the first or second week in December and we really enjoyed the trips.

Believe it or not, I went on Carnival and LOVED it! We left from Puerto Rico and visited: St. Thomas, Guadalope, Grenada, Aruba, and Curucao. It was wonderful. The only problem is this "brand" of cruises attracts a lot of families. So, If you don't like to be around small children and would like a more grown-up environment, you might want to consider a different cruise liner.

Don't go on Carnival, whatever you do. It is one giant ship full of drunk people vomiting all over everything. If you do go on a cruise, I would suggest Norwegian Cruise Line. I went to Alaska on the Norwegian Star and those ships are designed for luxury and family so they are very relaxing to travel on. The do have bars and a casino though, but they are all on one deck of the ship so if you want to avoid those, it is easy. And, you are not allowed to drink in the hallways so there aren't glasses of alcohol scattered all over they ship. They are great ships to travel on.

I have never taken Carnival but I've been on seven cruises altogether. My best cruise ship was the Celebrity line, and my best cruise destinations were Mediteranean and Alaska.

We went on I think --- Majesty Cruise lines.
It was great. We specifically went on a boat that did not center around "partying". So things were very subdued and relaxing.

There are many good ones. I rate Royal Caribbean the best. They are the most festive in their atmosphere, and people tend to like that. I've been all over the Carribbean, and also to Bermuda.
