A couple things!

If I feel like mindless snacking because I want something in my mouth, I chew gum or have seltzer water with a straw.

If you snack at night, use white strips and then brush your teeth. You won't be able to eat that way.

Have something pre-determined to get your mind off of it, like reading, looking at a magazine (not a food magazine!), going for a walk, listening to music, or any hobby.

Put a picture of a huge fat woman or a skinny person you want to look like on your fridge and cabinets as motivation.

Good luck!!

hide/throw out the food?
Why do you have access to food all day long? (I don't mean that in a rude way)
You should look for something to do that will occupy your time.

If you crave certain foods just keep a little of it aside to have as a treat/desert just after one of your meals. You might find you don't even want it by then.

You could always get a waterbottle of nice tasting juice or even water which is a good alternative to snacking.

Also a thought that might work...
How much do you care about the health of your teeth?
Constant snacking and drinking can erode your teeth. Especially healthy foods. So if you change to snacking on healthier things like pieces of fruit you might well end up with more problems because of the acidity and the fiberous bits getting stuck in your teeth.

Well snacking is actually how people lose weight, snacking through out the day helps cut down the portions at meal time. Nutritionist say that you should eat 5 times a day, that includes snacks, but make sure the snacks are good for you and not French Frys or chips but maybe grapes or apples. Cut off soda and sugar. Good luck to ya

It's not easy- I think the best thing to do is try to find something else to do. Find an activity you enjoy and try to keep yourself busy so you won't think about snacking or just won't have time for it. If you do get bored and feel like having a snack, try drinking a glass of water first and if you really need a snack try to make sure it is something healthy like fruit/vegetables. Don't even buy junk food and you won't be tempted if you're at home.

Drink tonnnns of water. That will really help you fill up when you are eating. Don't be afraid to drink up! And also if you have to snack, gravitate towards snacks with high levels of protein, rather than fatty ones, or the carb ones for that matter. The carb ones only give you temporary energy, because one to two hours later, you are hungry again. Good luck!

I believe it is not snacks but what we snank on and how much? So simply quit buying and keeping unhealthy snacks (cookies, soda pop, chips, popcorn, candy) in your home. Leave yourself access and recourse only to healthy snacks (fresh fruits and veggies) and foods. They are not chemically doped to make your hunger cravings worse at least I never yet heard of someone eating a whole bag of carrots or califlower.

So be gentle on yourself why set yourself up to fail by having such unhealthy snacks around ... heck if you want you can treat yourself once every couple of months to a meal garbage foods (if you still after a month you still crave them) just do not bring them home or to work.

Good luck and remember you deserve to be healthy.

Do not PUT snack stuff in your house that is very fattening(potatoe chips, ice cream or cookies) Buy yogurt, fruit. low calorie cottage cheeze. You can also make a low caloriedip from cottage cheeze or plain yogurt seasoned with your favorite spices. Use all veggies to satisfy your hunger. Good luck but I just drove to store for quart of icecream.

Well, you can go "cold turkey" & not have have any snacks in the house to begin with, OR (& this is probably the better idea), you can stock up on low- calorie ones, like air popped popcorn & pretzels -& see if those will help get you to where you want to go.
