Popping a cherry is a phrase used when you first have sex. There is a little piece of skin that breaks after the first time. This will cause a woman to bleed just a little bit.
If you tell a guy he popped your cherry you are only giving him bragging rights. Men love virgins.. It makes them feel good to be your first.
They may even know if they popped your cherry and you wont have to tell them.
