There is a lot of controversy over that little question. Some say it is for, one comedian says jello and some college professors say that it can be 5 or 6 depending on the variables. If it is two girls and two guys than the over all end could be entirely different than the beginning sum. So without variables, basic math it is 4 but if it has variables than it can be anywhere up to 16 but quints and quintuplets are rare. Depends on how many of the starting 4 are female and pregnant. Or if it is dogs they can have up to 15 puppies in 1 litter. So since you have given no variables to the equation it would be for. If you come back with variables it can be all the way up to 124 with dogs, 28 with humans though unlikely, but if you use say fish who have literally hundreds of eggs at one laying it would be impossible to determine. Overall in basic math the answer is four until such time that we know all the variables.
