Is it because it embodies modern day evil?

Will,
I can't actually comment about synagogues, rabbis, mosques and imams, as I have never been near them.

hello:}
i think it feels uncomfortable because each church member is already judging you to see if you might fit in ,plus the control issues and the different things each church seems to demand of it's members .it feels like a judgment day to me and i have gone and been to many churches throughout my lifetime and they simply feel closed off from whats really important .it is like being in a closed society and you don't fit in ,but then i don't want to fit in i want to live my life the very best i know how without feeling like i HAVE to do this or that or i am some sort of heathen or evil doer .
i live life by the words, treat and do to others as i want to be treated ,it keeps me healthy and happy .......

Does the church embody modern day evil? Not really. It is the disrespect for the church by some clergy and some members and some societies. It is the misuse of the church to forward earthly pursuits. As ever, it is the perversion of the truth that is bad.

I do, but because I can't breathe in churches. The air is so stagnant. And I find some nuns and priests kind of creepy.

I do...

... but not for that reason.

Churches smell weird, and priests are scary because they're known for raping kids, just like nuns are scary because they're known for smackin' kids with rulers.

you're just seeing the bullshit =)
there's just a creator of the universe.
everything else is open to conjecture.
jesus buddha vishnu jehovah and allah/mohammed are not god
they are demgogues.

if we closed their temples dedicated to our subservience, we would find our true selves as private intelligent beings. our wars would largely end and we could own our future. until we remove the shackles of religion and these demogogues from our planet we are as nothing but sheep (just like the 'bible' makes clear)

we will not advance or improve.

this is not conjecture and I am not a hater.
I am telling you that these "beings" are not your creator. they have no power over you.
you are free to deal with your existence as you choose. no one is going to judge after you die. wake up! your soul's evolution is a matter between you and the universe/creator not some demogogue that claims to have the keys to your salvation. this planet would benefit more from education and economic parity then any damn "there'll be a better tomorrow when I die" religion will ever cough up.

don't you feel a little stupid bowing to a wall in a city?? that wall is not going to do a thing for you. don't you feel stupid worshiping a "god" that says you should kill the disbelievers?? don't you feel stupid worshiping a god that claims only it will deliver your soul and all the other religions can go to hell? think!!! be your glorious human selves!!

- churches? All I see is monuments;
- priests & nuns? All I see is humans.

As a non-believer, I don't feel inner-connected with such stuff. I feel I see things/beings the way they really are, in a deconsecrated way.
