Here are my two options: 1)a fully loaded 2005 chevy cobalt with 25,000-30,000 miles and a warrenty that will last up to 100,000 miles for $12000 in any color I choose OR 2) a basic model 2006 chevy cobalt with 2,000 miles in red (I wanted white) with a warrenty up to 100,000 miles for $11,400. Which one should I pick and why?

None of the above. Look for a good pre-owned car that is 3-4 years old. New cars drop so much in the first 3-4 years. Let someone else take the hit.

I would chose the 2005 because it is only 1 year old and $600 more with all the options.....Seems like a better deal to me. How much would it be if you bought an 06 with all the options? Also, as far as the warranty goes, you are losing a year, but gaining all the features.

You don't want to save $600 and get a car with 25k miles unless the options are REALLY worth it.

Things like wheels and stereo can be upgraded later and customized for you. If you're talking about A/C and live in hot climate, it's a no-brainer. Otherwise, I prefer to upgrade little things as I go and spend the money wisely on things that I really like, instead of just getting all the options I don't even need...

If the price difference was $2k I would consider it. Otherwise, you're paying $600 for the guarantee that some moron didn't tool on your car.

Good luck,
Paul

The 05 has probably been a rental car. Which is not bad. It's ok if the warranty is bumper to bumper. If it's just a powertrain warranty, then I'd go with the 06.

I would go with the older one, it weill have alot higher resale value and you will like it alot better cuz of all the options, it wont cost much more a month and will be a better investment

Do you need all of those features in the loaded car? If you can't live w/o them get the loaded one.
