basically and to the point the wide mouthed frog is hopping thru the jungle meeting all sorts of wild animals and tells them he is a wide mouthed frog..until he meets a lion who tells him that he (the lion ) loves to eat wide mouthed frogs..the frogs then (it is hard to describe but easy to demonstrate) the frog screws up his mouthand says"you do not see many wide mouthed frogs these days"then there is the other version,where a princess picks up a frog and tries to kiss him but he opens his mouth and swallows her.not a very happy ending!

Basically like a few have posted about the frog hopping through the forest and talking to whoever he meets on the way. But when you tell the joke, everytime you are referring to the "wide mouth frog open your mouth very wide while you talk. At the end he meets the alligator and when He asks what he likes to eat the Allogator says "I like to eat Wide Mouth Frogs!" To which the frog replies (Now purse your lips together like your going to whistle) "you do?

One day a frog was walking walking along and meet a fox he said:

The fox said I eat rabbits. Then the frog hopped up to a rabbit and said:
