As a responsible, open-minded adult, I'm not concerned. If I were to have children, I would be more concerned about violence. After all, sex is typically a healthy part of an adult relationship, so eventually they'll experience it. But violence is never healthy, so I would be very concerned about their viewing this.

I would still want to discuss anything sexual or violent that they saw on tv (if they really want to see something, they'll see it regardless of the parents' ruling), so they don't have any confusions or mis-conceptions.

What concerns me is gratuitous violence... Violence that has no point to the story line or isn't essential to the flow of the movie. Sex is a natural act but my concern there is the blatant casual sex that's shown on TV with no consequences, emotion or responsiblity attached to it.

My daughter is only two y.o. but you can bet that when she is a teen, there will not be a tv in her room. Even network television is ridiculous now. Have you seen shows like Laguna Beach, One Tree Hill or The OC? I've only watched a few episodes but its too racy for pre-teens. I'm an adult that can differentiate between fantasy and reality so I love horror films, action sequences, etc. Its mostly the effects tv has on children without supervision that concerns me.

BOTH... just because seeing violence on TV over and over takes away from the harsh reality of what it's really like. Sex because it's a private, intimate thing for the people doing it, not to be thrown around on TV because it's entertaining. Plus, guys have a hard enough time with lust as it is, why torture them?

If the wife and I have sex ON the TV, then it's going to be violent when the TV breaks. So yes, I am concerned about sex ON TV but for other reasons

Neither one of them bothers me, although some weeks it does seem there are excessive scenes of sex and violence on tv. I have a child and I simply don't let her watch those, if she happens to see something on a news story before I get it turned off then I discuss it with her (like today she saw that guy the police were chasing and then he started fighting with the cops and they were hitting him, she was full of questions after seeing that becuase she's not used to seeing things like that). I fully believe that it's up to the parents to control what their kids watch. What concerns me is all of the kids who are growing up with a distorted view of the world because their parents don't bother to monitor what they watch.

Both. I believe that both sex and violence convey dangerous messages and give weak people wrong ideas.

I think that coverage of acts of compassion and forgiveness to others could be better examples to promote peace and understanding in the world.

However, that's not profitable - bad for the media owners!

Violence. Let's start by getting RID of the "Victim Channel" - Lifetime!

I don't care that in the end, the women fight back. I'm soooo tired of seeing the downtrodden.

FYI, I gave you a thumb's up for the fiery pit. Didn't want you to feel bad!

violence. While sex may not be so appropriate to see, it's still an act of love. Violence is not only hateful, but it desensitizes you to the cruelty in this world.

I'd have to say the 700 Club. That is a show for wackos and brainwashes people. Sex and violence are ok. They do not hurt anyone despite what the news will tell you.

Neither, it's just TV! Parents are responsible for what their children see on television. Adults are responsible for knowing the difference between reality and fiction and right and wrong.
