Canidae! My dogs have never been healthier..even the oldsters are acting as pups.. Wellness is great, too, but my dogs are doing so well on Canidae, that I am very happy with it..
other great kiibbles are Innova, Solid gold, Wysong.
I save about 23% on the cost of feeding a bunch of dogs, as opposed to Purina One or Pro Plan..they eat less, and poop less (waste) and don't need their teeth cleaned..even the old ones have sparkling white teeth..

Buy food for you dogs size. They all need different calories and nutrition. I always make sure that the crude protein is at least 21% . I have large dogs and that is there requirement. Stay away from foods with a lot of fillers, makes you dog fat and they poop a lot more. Some of the dog food from the grocery store are great, just check the content.

Home-prepared is the best. My dog's healthy and still energetic at 14. Every week I cook him up a batch of Dr. Harvey's Canine Health which contains grains and veggies and good stuff like that, and then add high-quality protein like hamburger, chicken, egg, or fish, and the occasional bone. Raw meat has the most nutrition but my dog prefers his chicken cooked :). Also, dogs can have a hard time digesting raw vegetables, so they should be cooked.
A lot of the processed kibble in supermarkets contains fillers, poor-quality protein, and the nutrition value is much lower--especially the cheap stuff. Home-prepared scared me at first, but I did some research and now I'm a fan--it's easy, it doesn't have to be pricey, and your dog will be healthier and love you for it :)

We feed the shelter dogs kibble (Purina, Iams, Pedigree) mixed with raw veggies, fruit, and boiled meat (hamburger). We also feed them rice, applesauce and pumpkin if they need some help with their digestive problems. Once a week the older dogs get a raw egg with their meal.

My dogs are fussy, but this is because I got them used to. I do give them the best brand but as they are increasing in number , it is getting very expensive on me, I do still give that brand once/day but support their meals with cooked liver and other bits from my favorite butcher. They love it, and love the butcher's visit.
Do not give the dog any meat with blood in. Just cook it moderately ( not raw, not well done ).
Dogs love and need the bone marrow , it is best for their skin.

As for me, it doesn't matter what you feed your dog as long as the dog likes it, Just don't give it poison, i'm sure you know what I mean. Sometimes I give my dog what I eat. You can always get nutrition elsewhere, as for me I am giving him a nutritional supplement, It's cheap anyway.
I'm using this one right here -->

I tried their product first and yes it does help my dogs. They've become more active and looks really healthy.

Hey.
If you really care about your dog, I would check out this site. It uncovered some things I had never realized before, and now I'm glad my lab will live far past the age of other dogs.

I used to feed them "Anergen".. But it gave them the poops.. So that wasn't fun.. Now I feed them Purina. I would rather feed them something a little more Hollistic, but they are so picky! They LOVE the Purina, so I have to stick with that.
